Sacramento Museum Day

I consider myself to be a history and museum nerd. I’m that person who will plan a vacation around visiting historical sites. It doesn’t matter if I’m in Europe or Hawaii. If it can tell the story of a place I want to get know a little better, you can find me there!

The 20th annual Sacramento Museum Day is coming on February 3, 2018. During Museum Day, patrons are able to visit each location either for free or at a reduced cost. Being located in California’s state capitol allows us to learn not just about the history of Sacramento but about the state as a whole. With 26 different museums throughout the greater Sacramento area, there is a little something for everyone. This provides an opportunity for families to have an affordable outing. Over the last six years I have made this a tradition of mine and I can’t wait to share it with newcomers.

Here are a few of my favorite museums to visit.

The California Museum

The Governor’s Mansion

Unfortunately this location is no longer available as the current governor has since made it his new residence.

The Sacramento History Museum
