Sandwiched

Pint-sized, energetic, joyful mo’opuna

Eager to connect with his Tutu

Every. Day.

“Mommy, I want to FaceTime Grandma!”

“Alexa, drop in on Perla!”

Laughter, smiles, and kisses exchanged digitally

In this moment I am grateful for technology

Tiny, innocent lima find their way to grasp wrinkled and disabled manamanalima

Slowly guiding their Tutu with loving patience

Under the warmth of the sun and allowing the gentle breeze to brush across our skin

On Saturdays we roll together

Sometimes to the zoo

Sometimes to see steam trains

Most often to lab appointments

In this moment I am grateful for the time

What comes to mind when asked about quality of life?

I step back. Observe. Reflect.

Three generations

One beginning

One nearing the end

One caught in the middle

This is my kuleana
