Indie Developer Spotlight: Ninja Pandas

We are SUPER, SUPER excited to introduce a couple of awesome nerds to our Sacramento Chapter & Community: NINJA PANDAS

Jateen Bhakta is Founding Partner of Ninja Pandas, an Indie gaming & Mobile Development company that also specializes in teaching Game Design from middle school students on up to Adult. He holds both a Bachelors and Master’s in Multimedia and teaches Interactive Design at California State University-East Bay. He is actively involved with the CSUEB Game Jam and is going to be working this Fall to bring Game Jams to Hayward High Schools through a Wells Fargo grant. When he isn’t teaching or starting something new, he is chasing squirrels or making fireballs in the pursuit of EPIC.

Clare Bhakta received her Masters in Multimedia from California State University-East Bay. She works in Web and Mobile Design specializing in content development and user testing for interactive experiences. Her interactive work ranges from mobile to large scale installation pieces. Her interests include how interactive media can create change in our world and within ourselves! Her goal is to change the world one game at a time. She works with Ninja Pandas teaching middle and high school students how to make mobile games and by day, she teaches at California State University-East Bay where she teaches Web and Professional Practices for multimedia and graphic artists.

Together, Jateen and Clare have a broad range of teaching interests:

-Web Design, HTML5, Wordpress
-Mobile Design – Jateen works in Lua and JavaScript so classes could be taught across multiple platforms including Construct, Love2d, CoronaSDK, Appcelerator, PhoneGap, and Cocos2D.
-Interactive Design
-Professional practices for Gamers & Artists – Portfolios & websites, how to present your work. How to promote your work through social media! Business basics for artists and multi media professionals!
-User Testing
-Sensors & Structures – Interactive physical art (Pure Data, Raspberry Pi)
