February Is The Month of Love
Greetings friends!
February is the month of love. Do you know what I love about winters in California? Being able to deliver this newsletter to you as I sit with my toes in the sand on a warm day along the coast. After an intense, Global Game Jam at UC Davis last weekend, the sun and surf are very much welcomed.
Now to the fun stuff!
2016 Sacramento Indie Arcade Gaming Expo
Our team is working diligently to bring you the 3rd annual Sacramento Indie Arcade. For some this is the event that you have been working towards since last June. For others, this has become an annual event for you and your friends/family to attend. Sac Indie Arcade will take place on Saturday, April 9th at the West Sacramento Community Center. Tickets are on sale now. We will send a separate email out with more information specific to this awesome event! In the meantime, please RSVP here for the event.
***If you're making a game, either digital or analog, that you want to show at the Sacramento Indie Arcade, which is at minimum in a playable demo status, please sign up here!***

***Special Announcements***
- PlaytoGather is a new startup company that was born at Startup Weekend Sacramento. This company wants to disrupt the “Hobby” Board Game Industry (HBI) by allowing gamers to play with friends using the tablets & smart phones they already have as Peer-to-Peer connected devices. They will build a platform for developers and a marketplace for consumers. The founder, Brian Gardner, is looking to gain feedback from developers. Does this sound like a platform you would use? Do you want to further the conversation? Watch this video. Let us know and we will connect you with PlaytoGather. Our goal is to provide quality events that will help each of you thrive. Although there is no cost to be a part of our Meetup group (EVER!), there are benefits for professionals and students to become members of IGDA. Read more here: https://www.igda.org/?page=benefits. Did you know a portion of member dues are invested back to local chapters? Should you choose to become an official IGDA member, this will help us continue to host quality and diverse game development events.
As always, we want to know what YOU want to see in an upcoming IGDA Sacramento event! Let us know which past sessions you've liked, what you didn’t, what you want to learn and what events you’d like to see happen!
GAME ON, SACRAMENTO!
Cheers,
-IGDA Sacramento Board
