2016 Sacramento Indie Arcade Speakers: Ninja Pandas
Last but certainly not least, IGDA Sacramento is proud to welcome Clare and Jateen Bhakta of Ninja Pandas to round out our speaker series for the 2016 Sacramento Indie Arcade Gaming Expo!
Jateen Bhakta (aka Big Panda) is co-founder of Ninja Pandas, an educational technology company that specializes in teaching game development. Teaching students from third grade through adults, Big Panda creates mobile games and then deconstructs the process to teach students to make their own games. Dedicated to diversity in classrooms, Ninja Pandas does the majority of work through corporate sponsored or grant funded camps to allow students to particulate regardless of income. Ninja Pandas brings the ART into STEAM by encouraging students to come up with their own story, audio narrative and art to accompany the code they learn. A student at heart, Big Panda has his Masters in Multi Media and is pursuing his PhD in Online Curriculum Design to further his pursuit of education available to all. When operating under the name Jateen Bhakta, he is the Educational Advisor for IGDA Sacramento, bringing curriculum and learning opportunities to IGDA members.
Clare Bhakta (aka Red Panda) teaches with Ninja Pandas workshops and camps from 3rd graders through adults. When not sitting in tiny chair classrooms, she teaches in the Art Department at California State University East Bay where she received her own Masters in Multi Media. Red Panda loves to encourage story telling and audio recording of children’s work. Fascinated by the ease at which children learn, and the dedication that adults put towards acquiring knowledge she loves to teach game development, art and narrative to all ages and interests.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear from Ninja Pandas! Tickets are available now via Eventbrite.
