IGDA Sacramento Continues to Nurture and Define Growing Game Development Community
My fellow nerds,
2016, so far, has been one of the most emotionally intense & memorable years since its establishment in April 2013.
New freelance opportunities, start-up game studios, friendships, imaginations and, most importantly, new games are coming to life within our Chapter and beyond!
The results within our IGDA Sacramento Chapter, Sacramento Indie Arcade and our many Meetup sessions leading up to SIA have been nothing short of breathtaking. I am deeply & truly so proud of you all for the commitments & obstacles you’ve had to overcome and continue growing!
IGDA Sacramento continues to nurture & define the ever-growing Game Development community with our goal of establishing a full-on job market here in the City of Trees!
It’s beginning to happen!!!
Our 2016 Sacramento Indie Arcade had its strongest attendance numbers yet: 500+, 35 Game Developers (including 1 from San Diego!) & some of the most awesome professional speakers we’ve ever had the pleasure of hosting!
With new partnerships in the making (they will be announced later this year) and with our newly establishing Chapter Committee (more on that soon), our Chapter’s leadership further becomes forged within Sacramento & beyond!
And, of course, SIA 2017 will be here before we all know it!
With our upcoming Progressive Game Jam for 2016-2017, plus additional educational & networking meet-ups later this summer, we’ll be revamping & strengthening the direction, growth and milestones for aspiring teams to finish what they’ve started!
IGDA Sacramento is growing. Though, it has not been easy. Nothing ever is. That is entirely OK! Because it helps us value why we are here and who is helping make a difference, within this community, FOR the community...not just for themselves.
Through the obstacles, through the challenges, we remind each other every...single...day that we are here to empower our each other. IGDA Sacramento is here to help build, learn & share that wisdom together! Because WE HAVE GAMES TO MAKE! Right? Right!
Are you all ready to be a part of what’s next for the Chapter? Let’s dance.
