IGDA Sacramento Newsletter: July 2016

IGDA Sacramento Newsletter: July 2016

Summer (and the utterly oppressive heat) is upon us! More importantly, the beginning of our next Progressive Game Jam for 2016-2017 takes off later in July!

To prepare for this awesome event, we will have some Meetups earlier in July so we can all network & nerd out to our 8-bit heart’s content!

So, if you’re new to our Chapter, we highly recommend you join us and be ready to be a part of something ever-growing within our Sacramento Game Development community.

-Gabriel G.
Founder & Chair, IGDA Sacramento

I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July holiday weekend! Before we share our monthly events with you, we have a special announcement. To ensure that all facets of game development are well represented Gabriel and I have expanded our organizer team to include table top gaming, next level business development resources, as well as a club to represent Sacramento area college students!

Jeff LaFlam will be overseeing events for those who are interested in table top game development. Click here to learn more about his card game, Zomburbs.

Nathan Allshouse is one of the masterminds behind the Progressive Game Jam series. His drive to help local independent developers level up and release their games has been a powerful force for our community.  Stay tuned for more information on resources that will soon be available.

Our chapter members are focused on giving back to local schools and universities. We want to make sure students have a voice in our group as well, so we have asked the UC Davis Game Development and Arts Club to represent their peers.

As always, Clare and Jateen Bhakta of Ninja Pandas will continue furthering the educational game development programs presented by IGDA Sacramento. Currently, they will be offering after school programs and select summer programs in the Sacramento area starting August 2016.

Now that I've shared a little bit more with you, let's get on to some rad events we have planned for July!

-Bree
